Peer Review Process
The Journal of Applied English Studies and Communication (JAESC) implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of all published manuscripts. In this process, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review procedure.
1. Initial Submission
All manuscripts submitted to JAESC are first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope, writing standards, and submission guidelines.
2. Editorial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor conducts an initial screening to assess:
- Relevance to the journal scope
- Originality and academic quality
- Compliance with formatting and ethical standards
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
3. Reviewer Assignment
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.
4. Double-Blind Review
The manuscript undergoes a double-blind review process, where:

- Reviewers do not know the identity of authors
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality
- Methodological rigor
- Theoretical contribution
- Clarity of presentation
- Relevance to applied English studies and communication
5. Review Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
6. Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and resubmit within the specified time frame.
7. Final Decision
The editor makes the final decision based on the revised manuscript and reviewers’ feedback.
8. Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and formatting accuracy before publication.
